Your Groomer

Hi, my name is Angela Grimes and I am the owner / groomer at The Woof Wash Salon and
Boutique. I set up the salon in 2007 and it has been very well recieved by many local pet
owners and my client base now stretches out to Manchester, Wigan and Chorley with
one or two clients coming from London and the Midlands booking in when they visit relatives in
my area. Most of my customers come from recommendations so I must be doing something right.

I have worked for over 25 years in the animal sector (on and off) and started my career as a
veterinary nurse with Salford RSPCA where I worked for 8 years. This is where I gained
invaluable experience in the correct handling of all types of animals including very nervous,
sometimes aggressive and neglected pets. I have since worked in the private sector with vet
surgeries, kennels & catteries, stables and farms and have always had my own menagerie
(some of my pets are pictured here on this page) so am well versed with animals. I have also
worked in non animal related employment where I achieved other qualifications including City &
Guilds, ABC certificate and NVQ's and gained a wealth of experience in business and
marketing.

Due to health problems I had to change my career again so after a lot of thought and consideration
I decided to go back to college and train in dog grooming. I achieved my City & Guilds Level 3
advanced dog grooming with 'Distinction' and also the St Helens College certificate in animal care.
I also attended a course for microchip implantation and am now a fully qualified implanter.
